Bish Nathir is a bleak hamlet of ten weathered houses at the very tip of the southern cape, the southernmost dwelling in the kingdom.
The sea surrounds it east, south and west. Dead, wind-twisted trees line the narrow cape behind, and a single track leads north. A stone beacon tower with a fire basket stands at the point.
The beacon keepers say the fire must never go out, and never say what happens if it does.
