Élein

Élein from above

Élein is a fortified hamlet of some 150 people (about 30 houses) on the east bank of the border river, facing the Araxi woods.

A wooden palisade with a watchtower rings the hamlet; the fortified gate faces the river landing. The dark forest looms on the far western bank, and the river road runs south along the east side.

Élein's watch changes at dusk and dawn. No one crosses from the far bank in peace.
